Job Description Security Officer
Security Officer is responsible for periodically patrolling buildings and grounds to ensure safety and security. This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 0-2 years of experience in the field or a related area. Officers must be familiar with standard security concepts, practices, and procedures within their field.
Security Patrol Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of assigned buildings and grounds by conducting periodic patrols, monitoring for suspicious activity, and responding to security incidents. Officers are expected to maintain a visible presence, deter criminal activity, and uphold company security policies.
Objectives of the Role Security Officer
- Security officer will secure premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; and permitting entry.
- Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers
- Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures
- Maintain environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls
- Control traffic by directing drivers
- Respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees and customers
